  • daemons

The generative art project “Daemons” examines the phenomenology of visual perception, which is unique to each individual. It also pays homage to Herman Rorschach’s inkblot tests, famous in cultural context, but also not so reliable in psychology. At the beginning of his practice, Rorschach was interested in studying how people see and perceive things. His […]

    Code Weaveresses

The initial spark for this piece started with Armin Hofmann’s exercises in style and composition. Just as George Nelson wrote in the preface to Armin’s book Graphic Design Manual: Principles and Practices: “Despite all our efforts to simplify things – efforts constantly expanding in order to keep abreast of steadily increasing complexity – nothing is […]

    A Look of sheer delight

A Look of Sheer Delight is an exploration of the possibilities within the confines of the simple algorithm’s narrow frame. Draw a series of similar curves with the code, but carefully place them next to each other, with or without small gaps. Rather than assigning different colors to the curves, constrain the coloration by gradually […]

    Generative Fantasies: 101 Compositions

This could be a follow-up to Herbert W. Franke’s finding of interesting connections between Constructivism and Generative art, where at first, technological limits allowed only simple line drawings, based on fixed proportions, and later were extended by the use of random generators. Constructivism, as an art movement, sought to depict modern civilization, the symbiotic relationship […]

Undisputably, my mathematical background makes me naturally attracted to graphs, math functions, and transformations. I use math in ways that mathematicians could consider nonsense, but which produce fascinating aesthetic elements for creation (to paraphrase Herbert W. Franke). Combining scientific symbols and illustrations with fictional data produces pseudo-persuasive generative imagery that we can easily take to […]

‘Video games are appreciated as both art forms in their own right and as tools for the creation of art works. In order to emphasize the fact that this is an art project, rather than a computer game, many of the usual characteristics of classic video game can not be found here. However, by pretending to be an artwork, maybe it will provoke some questions and emotions?
